I’ve heard that song thousands of times, seen it on stage like 100s more and was sure, that no other band can do more justice to it, than Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes… But now, I think that there are some serious competitors rising their voices & saxophones… Bruce wrote the piece almost 4 decades ago, and the Kingfish did play it like 2936 times before this night, last week in Tampa, Florida… So – no real surprise, how well they did play it! Well they did indeed! And: What a surprise! Phenomenal!
Bruce Springsteen & the E-Street Band – We Take Care Of Our Own – from the new album “Wrecking Ball”, to be released on 03.03.2012!
Last night’s performance and 2012 debut of the E-Street Band at the Grammy Awards at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, USA left me speechless… and I want to share that until FOX or the FBI take down the video on YouTube. It’s really THAT good!
This one goes out to my friends and all people of all races, regions and religions: Here’s the greatest band on earth, with pretty much the only Christmas song I can still stand hearing these days. Live at the Carousel House on the Asbury Park Boardwalk, just a year ago…:
Are your ears bleeding because you’ve had too much George Michael already?
Well, my fellow youngsters, I’ve got the right antidote for ya! No Band-Aid! Just old people playing “Old Time Rock & Roll”… Hell… I just LOVE this…
It’s BOSS Day! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRUCE!
This was “only” 39 years ago: Max’s Kansas City 08/10/72. Rare footage from Bruce Springsteen (solo). Bruce opened for headliner Dave Van Ronk and Doris Abrahams. The man, for sure, did grow up ever since!
No further comment on this one – not on this day. Try to make someone happy. Love one, completely. Every day!
